Welcome to the GMS Media Center

The Green Mountain School Library opened its doors in 2006 thanks to local individuals and organizations who generously donated their treasures and talents to accomplish this goal. As space became available in the modular building housing the school office, the library area was bustling with activity installing newly purchased shelving, and organizing a wide variety of books for our students to learn from and enjoy.

In 2012, twenty student computers were added to the area transforming our library into a Media Center. Students are now able to become effective finders and users of information and ideas, and become critical thinkers and skillful researchers.

Our Media Center continues to be supported in multiple ways. In 2016, we received $1000 to purchase new non-fiction books for our students with a generous grant from the Washington State Library. The grant program, “Refreshing School Libraries” was made available through the Washington State Library and the Secretary of State, and provided about 50 new books for our shelves. Subject areas of these new books included farming, machines, camping and wilderness survival, fact books, and animals.   Additionally, our PTSO has purchased many new books for our library helping to keep our collections updated and interesting for our students.
