Healthy Beginnings
Green Mountain School District and Battle Ground School District are committed to providing nutritious meals to the students in the Green Mountain School District. Meals are based on the USDA's nutrition guidelines and include a variety of fresh fruit and vegetable choices, and a variety of chilled non-fat or low-fat milk. With nutritious meals, students are engaged and ready to learn, and helping to establish good eating habits for a lifetime.

Turn in Your Application as Early as Possible
Application processing timeframe: Applications will be reviewed, and an eligibility determination made within 10 working days of the receipt of the application. Meals provided prior to the approval of the application will be charged at full price. You are responsible for the charges made.

Reimbursable Meals
Students must take all of the required components of a meal for it to be considered reimbursable and to qualify under the Free and Reduced Meal Program. If any of the required components are declined, the meal is considered non reimbursable and will be charged accordingly.

If a student qualifies for Free/Reduced meals and only chooses milk, the milk is not considered reimbursable and will be charged at the current rate of 50 cents per milk.

Sack Lunch Availability
Sack lunches are available for students going on field trips and on early release days. The lunches will be prepared by the Battle Ground School District and based on the USDA’s nutrition guidelines. The sack lunches are charged to the student’s lunch account at the same rate as the hot lunch program (free, reduced, or full pay.) Sack lunches must be ordered three (3) days in advance. There is a check box on field trip forms to order, and a special form is sent home before early release days with the ordering deadline date to return the form.

Charge Policy
All students have a food service account that functions like a debit account.  Payments can be made online through your Skyward Family Access Account. Cash or checks may be deposited into a student's account at any time and any denomination is acceptable.  Please make all checks payable to the Green Mountain School District.  The student's debit account cannot accommodate charges.  Students must have money in their account to cover the cost of the meal.

Food Accommodations
The Battle Ground food service department will make every effort to accommodate all students with special needs or food allergies.  The food service department must be provided a written recommendation or diagnosis from a licensed physician if the child has a disability.
